??WHY DO TRAINS STAY ON TRACKS??
IF TRACK IS STRAIGHT
IF TRACK ARE STRAIGHTS THEN A SIMPLE WHEEL DESIGN CAN ALSO WORK
BUT AS WE KNOW TRACK CAN'T BE ALWAYS STRAIGHT .
TRACKS ARE IN CURVED SHAPE DUE TO WHICH REQUIREMENTS OCCURS FOR SPECIFIC DESIGN OF WHEELS
NOW PROBLEM ARISES WHEN U GO AROUND THE CORNER THEN THE OUTER RAIL IS LONGER THEN THE INNER CORNER.
AND TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE AND TO TURN THE TRAIN
WE NEED ONE WHEEL TO EITHER RUN FASTER FROM THE OTHER WHEEL i.e IF SPEED OF LEFT WHEEL IS FASTER THEN THE RIGHT WHEEL THEN TRAIN CAN MOVE IN LEFT DIRECTION viceversa BUT THIS CAN'T BE POSSIBLE BECAUSE IN THAT CASE WE NEED A SEPARATE ENGINE OR TECHNIQUE WHICH CAN BE COSTLY.
OR SECOND OPTION TO MAKE A TURN IS TO MAKE ONE WHEEL BIGGER THEN OTHER.
MAKING ONE WHEEL BIGGER THEN OTHER IS A NICE SOLUTION AS IT WILL MAKE THE TRAIN GO AROUND THE CORNER BUT WITH THIS OPTION TRAINS CAN'T GO STRAIGHT.
NOW REMEMBER THE SECOND OPTION
WHEEL ARE SO TECHNICALLY DESIGNED THAT THEY FOLLOW ABOVE PRINCIPAL
THIS IS DESIGN OF WHEELS WHICH MAKES TRAIN TO STAY ON TRACK.
HOW TRAINS TAKE TURN ?
TRAINS TAKE TURNS BY SHIFTING HIS WHEELS IN LEFT AND RIGHT DIRECTION IN RESPONSE TO THE TRACKS LET SEE.
IF WHEEL CURVE IS SMALLER ON LEFT SIDE AND BIGGER ON RIGHT SIDE THEN THEN IT TURN TO THE LEFT SIDE
IF WHEEL IS BIGGER ON LEFT SIDE AND SMALLER ON RIGHT SIDE THEN IT TAKE TURNS TO THE RIGHT SIDE.
SO NEXT TIME WHEN YOU GOING IN TRAIN THEN JUST REMIND THE IMPORTANCE OF WHEELS DESIGN.
